SatQuery AI — Qwen2.5-VL-3B Fine-tuned (Merged)
Smart India Hackathon 2026 | Problem Statement #167: Earth Observation Foundation Intelligence
SatQuery AI is a Tri-Brid satellite image intelligence system that fuses a fine-tuned Vision-Language Model (this model) with classical ML, deep learning CNNs, and exact GIS spatial mathematics to answer natural language queries about satellite imagery with 92.13% accuracy and 0% hallucination on numerical/spatial tasks.
This repository contains the full merged model (base + LoRA adapter weights merged). For the lightweight LoRA adapter only (~20MB), see argho229/satquery-qwen-lora-adapter.

🚀 Quick Start
Load the model
`python from transformers import AutoModelForCausalLM, AutoTokenizer, AutoProcessor import torch
model_id = "argho229/satquery-qwen-vl-3b-merged"
processor = AutoProcessor.from_pretrained(model_id) model = AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained( model_id, torch_dtype=torch.bfloat16, device_map="auto" ) `
Run inference on a satellite image
`python from PIL import Image
image = Image.open("your_sentinel2_image.png")
messages = [ { "role": "user", "content": [ {"type": "image", "image": image}, {"type": "text", "text": "What land cover types are present in this satellite image?"} ] } ]
text = processor.apply_chat_template(messages, tokenize=False, add_generation_prompt=True) inputs = processor(text=[text], images=[image], return_tensors="pt").to(model.device)
with torch.no_grad(): outputs = model.generate(**inputs, max_new_tokens=256, temperature=0.1)
response = processor.decode(outputs[0], skip_special_tokens=True) print(response) `
Using the lightweight LoRA adapter instead
`python from peft import PeftModel from transformers import AutoModelForCausalLM, AutoProcessor
base = AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained( "Qwen/Qwen2.5-VL-3B-Instruct", torch_dtype=torch.bfloat16, device_map="auto" ) model = PeftModel.from_pretrained(base, "argho229/satquery-qwen-lora-adapter") `
🏗️ Architecture: The Tri-Brid System
Standard VLMs alone fail on satellite imagery numerical queries because neural networks cannot count raster pixels accurately. SatQuery AI solves this with a three-layer fusion:
